Chamber Water Run Reaches New Participation High

The Paris-Henry County Chamber of Commerce’s annual Water Fun Run, a poker run for watercraft on Kentucky Lake, reached a new participation high this year, with over 540 players. The three $500 winners for best hands drawn at 2 pm, 3 pm and 4 pm were Charlene Garrett, Leslee Quinn and Carney West.

“Staging a mobile, multi-site event outdoors requires an incredible level of cooperation and volunteer support,” according to Chamber Vice President of Tourism Development Michele Atkins, Henry County Extension. “We had a great year and are so grateful to all of the players, the resorts, our sponsors and the volunteers who donated their time and talents.” Participating resorts included Breakers, Mansard Island, Cypress Bay, Cypress Spings, Buchanan, Leatherwood, Pleasant View, Fat Daddy’s and Paris Landing State Park. There also two pontoon stops, hosted by Dr. Jeff and Jennifer Morris and Dr. Jeff Seaton. T-shirt sponsors were Paris Landing State Park, the Loft, Lakeway IGA and Blues Landing.
